Sally Marie Elmore OBITUARY

Born in Buffalo, NY, Sally Elmore (née Barone) was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. A graduate of Cathedral Girls High School in San Diego (Class of 1945), she furthered her education at San Diego State College.

Sally dedicated 42 years to NAS North Island’s Supply Department and volunteered 22 years with the North Island Credit Union, which honored her by naming a branch after her–a gesture that brought her great joy.

Deeply involved in her community, she gave over 20 years to organizations like the International Toastmistress, Islanders Club, Bayside Settlement House, and Holy Family Church.

She loved poetry, reading, baking, and spending time with family. Sally was married to Leonard Elmore for 45 years until his ing, and she kept his memory close.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Don and Frank Barone, and nephew Vaughn. She is survived by sister-in-law Anita; nephews Damon, Daren, and Quinn; niece Paige; great-nephews Tyler, Hayden, and Julian; and great-niece Kendall.

Sally’s warmth and generosity will be deeply missed. In her honor, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Linda Vista.
