Here are some of the best things to do this weekend in San Diego from Friday, June 13 to Sunday, June 15.

Friday

Nat at Night: The San Diego Natural History Museum stays open until 10 p.m. on during Nat at Night for late-night exploration of the museum. Guests can enjoy rooftop access and can purchase food and drinks from various local vendors. ission is also half-off. Nat at Night runs weekly on Fridays during the summer. 5 to 10 p.m. Friday. History lectures: LIFE, MiraCosta College’s Learning is for Everyone group, holds free lectures June 13. At 1 p.m., Doug Green will present “A Lesson in Journalism” about how a group of students discovers the horror of the Holocaust and produces a groundbreaking film. At 2:30 p.m., Barbara Mortkowitz will give a lecture, “Neil Simon: Observing It All,” about “one of the most successful playwrights in the history of American Theatre.” The lectures are in the Oceanside Campus istration Building, 1 Barnard Drive. San Diego County Fair: This year’s fair theme is, “Summer Pet-tacular,” and visitors can expect a pet parade and interactive pet-themed props. Guests can also expect to hear concerts, ride amusement park rides, play carnival-type games, win prizes and see farm animals. There are also various special events during the fair such as pig races, LGBTQ+ day and a reggae festival. The 2025 Del Mar Grandstand Stage lineup features Maxwell, Third Eye Blind, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and more. Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar. June 11 through July 6. sdfair.com

Toyota Summer Concert Series on the Corona Grandstand Stage: The concert series ramps up during the first weekend of the fair with performances by Maxwell on Friday, Zedd on Saturday and Los Tucanes de Tijuana on Sunday. Del Mar Grandstand Stage 2025 concerts to feature Ziggy Marley, Maxwell, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Fiber Fest: This free event for all ages celebrates natural textiles and sustainability and brings together fiber artists, artisans, sustainability advocates and local farmers. The event shows the process of making natural textiles from sheep to finished fabric. There will be live demonstrations, artist vendors, workshops and interactive crafts. There is a Sit & Stitch and Fiber & Fabric Swap from 6 to 8 p.m. June 13 and fiber arts workshops all day June 15. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Kids in the Garden class: A Kids in the Garden class on Soil, Composting & Planting is offered this weekend. The group will plant some seeds for summer crops. Bring plant-based kitchen garbage in a container to add to the compost. Adults stay with their kids. The class fee is $5 per person, which includes garden entry; free for garden . Country night: For those who want or need a new cowboy, rancher or trucker hat, Harrah’s Resort Southern California is hosting Rancher Hat Bar’s pop-up event. This shop will be selling various hats that customers can customize. Trucker hats are available for $45 and include one large patch and three small patches. Cowboy and Rancher hats will cost $90 and include two bands and a choice of a feather, card or matchbook pin. Hot to trot: Your guide to the musical fare at the 2025 San Diego County Fair

Artisan market:  artists, artisans, bead makers, designers and established bead merchants at the Escondido Bead & Design show. This first-time event at the California Center for the Arts features a curated marketplace of vendors selling handmade jewelry, artisan clothing, beads, gemstones, vintage attire and artistic accessories. EXPO Design Market: The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is bringing back its EXPO Design Market. The two-day, all-ages event is curated to spotlight “the best of publishing, design, music and more,” according to the museum. The event gives the public a chance to see new design work and connect with local and regional innovators. There will also be a book g from Ed Templeton, professional skateboarder, contemporary artist and photographer, a film screening of “Swampy’s Diaries,” a vendor market and live DJ sets by Chapter One Records. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Greek festival: A celebration of Greek culture with food, music, dancing and more is what the public can expect at the San Diego Greek Festival. This family-friendly event will have Greek food and beverages, including wine and beer for sale, pastries, live Greek music, folk dancers, a children’s zone and giveaways. Chula Vista summer movies: This summer, the city of Chula Vista will be showing family-friendly films outdoors for its summer series, Movies in Memorial. The public can watch movies for free at Memorial Park during select Saturdays in June, July and August. The series kicks off with “The Goonies” on Saturday. “The Secret Life of Pets” will play on June 28, “Selena” will be featured on July 12, “Nacho Libre” will be shown on July 26 and “Encanto” will screen on Aug. 9. Jazz performance: The Oak Park Library is celebrating Juneteenth with a live jazz concert. The Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, by maestro Gilbert Castellanos, will perform for one hour. Juneteenth Jubilee: Live music and poetry are the focal point of the San Diego Central Library’s Juneteenth Jubilee. The event will feature San Diego Poet Laureate Paola Capó-García and the Back-Alley Poetry Club, with poetry readings throughout the day. Plus, the Dennis Gittens Jazz Duo will play live music and professor King Britt will talk about electronic music in Black and African culture. The event will take place in the courtyard. Kinfolk Fest 2025: Waterfront Park is being turned into a celebration of Black culture and community at the SD Melanin Kinfolk Fest 2025. This seven-hour festival brings together live music, DJs, Black-owned vendors, a spades card game tournament, food and drinks. Some of the live performers include Ainjo, Clay Dub, Deleon Nox and Dina Maeva. Ramel J. African American genealogy: Learn about family history at a special African American genealogy workshop at the Skyline Hills Library. The San Diego African American Genealogy Research Group will teach the public about research strategies and present resources for those exploring their family roots. Car show: Belmont Park is hosting its 12th annual Father’s Day Car Show. This year’s family-friendly event will put over 100 classic cars on display and provide live music from The Farmers as well as food and drink specials and a special vintage Chevy Suburban, which has beers on tap. Some of the food and drink specials include a slice of Pizza Port pizza and one beer for $12 and a cheeseburger with fries and beer for $16. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15. 3146 Mission Blvd., San Diego. Cigar bar and putting green: El Chingon in the Gaslamp Quarter is transforming part of its Mexican restaurant and bar into a place for golf fans and cigar aficionados on Father’s Day. Dads can practice their short game on a putting green and try cigars via a pop-up vendor on the patio. Oldies concert: The Quartyard is hosting an oldies concert that is fit for dads and grandpas. The Lovalot Group and DJ Kid Wonder will be playing a mix of old school soul, funk and classic rock and roll. El Comal will be selling Mexican food. CONCACAF Gold Cup games: Snapdragon Stadium is hosting international soccer matches with teams from the Caribbean, Central America, South America and the Middle East. A doubleheader of CONCACAF Gold Cup games is taking place on one day. The first match is Haiti versus Saudi Arabia, followed by Costa Rica against Suriname.
