Re “Head of EPA vows to pressure Mexico to end sewage crisis” (April 23): In my opinion, it is doubtful an istration that seeks to curtail environmental protection laws will act forcefully to end the Tijuana sewage disaster. As an alternative, I recommend that concerned citizens the office of California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Tell the governor to schedule an urgent meeting with Baja California Gov. Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda. The purpose of this meeting should be to develop and implement a permanent solution to the Tijuana River sewage crisis, at the earliest possible date.
