Re “No, San Diego is not backing away from commitment to equity on my watch” (March 11): Almost ironic, as the rain is pouring down, Mayor Todd Gloria devotes a half-page commentary, not explaining our street and storm drain readiness, but rather to boast of his enhanced diversity, equity and inclusion efforts throughout City Hall. He continues to pander to the Democratic Party extreme left and stoke the culture wars. Obviously, his focus is his next higher office. The city of San Diego is of minimal concern.
As an example, he falsely states the success of Park for All of Us initiative, all window dressing. My closest park is Robb Field and it’s in abysmal shape. Potholed roads and parking lots, washed-out dirt road access. And the comfort stations should be closed by the health department. They’re now simply a haven for all the homeless problems. Hence completely unusable for our families.
Gloria is out of touch with the real San Diego.
