UPDATED:

The La Jolla Traffic & Transportation Board this week unanimously ed a request from Ann Kerr, chairwoman of the La Jolla Christmas Parade & Holiday Festival, for street closures and no-parking areas for this year’s event.

Kerr said the 68th annual parade, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8, will follow the same route as before, and the no-parking zones the day of the parade are planned to stay the same. Signs will be posted ahead of the event.

The parade, themed “Palm Trees & Poinsettias — A California Christmas,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Girard Avenue and Kline Street, head north on Girard, turn left onto Prospect Street and end around Silverado Street.

The accompanying Holiday Festival will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wall Street, featuring a Santa’s Village complete with visits with Santa Claus.
