UCSD has created housing shortage with ruinous growth
UC San Diego has a housing shortage. They should have seen this coming. In fact, they created it by enrolling too many students. Simple. (“Sidewalk space becoming scarce as UC San Diego’s fall enrollment reaches a record 42,376,” Nov. 2, La Jolla Light)
Not only that, they are ruining a beautiful La Jolla neighborhood. For what? More money? Is making more money the goal of UCSD? Or being the largest university in the country?
If so, why? Is that in their charter, or is it just the desire of the UCSD chancellor? If so, fire him.
It’s gotta stop. It’s hurting La Jolla, San Diego and the students having to sleep in cars because of the housing shortage.
