Fantasy Football 2023: Denver Broncos Preview

Will Jerry Jeudy establish himself as a top-10 wide receiver for Russell Wilson in new head coach Sean Payton’s dynamic offense?

UPDATED:

Knowledge is power and the greatest asset you can acquire in order to compete for a fantasy football championship.

Here’s your 2023 preview of the Denver Broncos, the first of 32 team profiles during draft season:

2023 Fantasy MVP: Jerry Jeudy, WR

Jeudy received nine fewer targets than Courtland Sutton in 2022, but outproduced him in yards, receptions, yards per reception and touchdowns. He finished as the WR18 in standard formats (WR22 in PPR) after an inconsistent start to the season, but from Week 13 on he produced as the overall WR6 and now he has one of the best offensive minds in NFL history as his coach in Sean Payton. It’s a substantial upgrade over Nathaniel Hackett.

2023 Fantasy Sleeper: Samaje Perine, RB

Payton’s offenses have historically featured multiple backs and there’s no guarantee Javonte Williams will be fully healthy at any point this season after suffering a devastating knee injury last October. Perine is currently being drafted as the RB40 (ADP: 106) and has a history of producing when given the opportunity. In two games as a starter for the Bengals in 2022, Perine had 248 total yards, 10 receptions and a TD.

2023 Fantasy Bust: Javonte Williams, RB

I expect Denver’s offense will rebound under Payton and I believe Williams’ (ADP: 62) potential is sky-high, but I don’t believe he becomes the bell-cow running back this season we all know he’s capable of becoming. It’s notoriously difficult for running backs after sustaining ACL injuries. I’d consider taking a flier on the talented tailback if he’s available in the second-half of your draft.

2023 Fantasy Rookie to watch: Marvin Mims Jr., WR

Mims’ (ADP: 192) path to the No. 3 WR gig got easier when Tim Patrick suffered a season-ending torn Achilles early in training camp. There’s legit dynasty value here with Sutton facing free agency after this season.
